(Photo courtesy of Jasz Garrett/KINY) Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The annual fourth of July picnic and watermelon eating contest took place on Sandy Beach at 6:00 pm Sunday. Maggie Swanson, a member of the Fourth of July Committee for 18 years, shared more about the community event. "Well, it's nice to have wonderful, wonderful weather for everyone to come out and join, join us. We're picking back up to pre-COVID times.
