News Home Photo provided by CCFR Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - At approximately 2:27 am, Capital City Fire Rescue responded to the 8400 block of Nugget Drive in the Mendenhall Valley for a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, the fire was found on the exterior of a double-wide manufactured home. The structure had multiple additions built onto it and was abandoned. The fire was able to breach many concealed spaces making suppression very difficult and the integrity of the roof was compromised making unsafe conditions for fire personnel to gain an advantage from above the fire area.
