News Home Map of road closure photo provided by USDA Forest Service Thorne Bay, Alaska (KINY) - Shaheen Road #2050000 will be closed for 10 days beginning Jul. 14 to accommodate the use of heavy equipment for road maintenance. The road will re-open on Jul. 25, 2023. There will be other road maintenance activities occurring before and after the announced closing date. The public should be aware of road maintenance equipment in the area during that time, and heed any traffic or hazard signs posted.
