News Home More from News of the North Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Dispose of a holiday tree for free in two weeks. Dispose of your holiday tree for free on Friday, January 20 or Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by dropping it off at CBJ's Household Hazardous Waste facility, located at 5600 Tonsgard Court. Upon entering the facility take an immediate right and follow the Recycling/HHW signs. Trees cannot be taller than 9 feet or larger than 8 inches in diameter at the base. Trees must also be free of decorations or other foreign materials as they will be chipped and used as trail mediation material at Eaglecrest.
