News Home More from News of the North Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - On August 28, at 3:49 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Shorebird Lane in Anchor Point for a reported death. An investigation showed that sometime during the previous 24 hours, Kenneth Defrancesco, age 80 of Anchor Point, had died due to a gunshot wound. Defrancesco had been found by a friend who was checking up on him after Defrancesco did not respond to phone calls and texts during the day.  Based on the scene investigation, it appears that Defrancesco was exiting his vehicle when a firearm he was carrying came out of the holster and fired a round fatally wounding him.
